The Hype Magazine Publisher and CEO Jameelah “Just Jay” Wilkerson receives ‘Trailblazing’ Honors

Yes Gawd Hunni........ I am proud to announce that Publisher and CEO of The Hype Magazine, Jameelah “Just Jay” Wilkerson will be honored at “The Trailblazer Awards” December 4, 2016,  slated to take place at the historic Madame Walker Theatre. 
For it’s inaugural event in 2015, the initial class of honorees included many distinguished people. Among those honored were Dr. Bobby Jones, Dr. Sybril Bennett, John Heidelberg, Nella Pearl Frierson, Hazel Joyner Smith, Connie Denell, Sharon Kay, Rosetta Miller Perry, Young Buck, Charles Howe, Jesse Johnson, Janiro Hawkins and Ron Wynn. A sign of how well the inaugural event went and the respect it already has earned was the fact almost all the honorees attended in person to receive their awards including Dr. Jones.

For all those hip-hop lovers and rap music lovers, the CEO/Publisher of The Hype Magazine Jameelah “Just Jay” Wilkerson has showcased her skills as a business professional, marketing consultant, web designer, graphic designer, and songwriter.
Although she’s known for her Southern Entertainment Awards nomination for “Magazine Publication of the Year,” Proclamation for the city of Atlanta, and the winner of “Magazine of the Year” at the SCM Awards 2015, her newest feather in her success hat is her growing songwriting career.
Jameelah began her magazine in 2002 at the tender age of 23 however her passion for music and songwriting did not reduce in all these years. The craze for songwriting has only grown in these times and has flourished in the form of the fantastic song “You Make Me Feel” written by her.
Over the years, Just Jay has expanded her legacy after the death of her mother, concentrating more on the business side to make her mother feel proud of her.
“Just Jay,” born in Muncie, Indiana, has led her company with her expertise in multiple arenas. Not only as a marketing, PR, and graphic design firm, but also as a successful entertainment magazine owner focusing on music. She has excelled in every field she’s entered.

Everything Underground, an Indianapolis-based, multi-media organization dedicated to community empowerment, is pleased to announce the nominees for its 2016 Trailblazer Awards. The official announcement was made live at EU’s studio, 1125 Brookside Ave., Saturday, Oct. 15th. These nominees were chosen by a select committee comprised of Everything Underground members. They will be honored at an awards ceremony December 4, 2016.

There have been 18 honorees selected from the nominee total of 45. EU also revealed a charity drive they have chosen to support at this event.

It was originally founded in Nashville, TN as an organization designed to unite many contemporary movers and shakers operating under the mainstream radar. EU’s platforms now offer networking opportunities, feature various members, and highlight key issues and pivotal companies.
